Sant Joan de les Abadesses, in the Ripollès, lies between Ripoll and Camprodon, in the Sant Joan valley at the confluence of the Ter River and the Arçamala stream. This historic town preserves one of the most important monumental complexes in the Pyrenees, headed by the Monastery of Sant Joan and the church of Santa Maria.
