Monells
Monells, in the Baix Empordà region of Girona, is one of the most beautiful medieval villages in Catalonia and one of the hidden gems of the inland Costa Brava. Its cobbled streets, arcades, porticoed squares and stone houses have preserved their medieval character, making it one of the most charming destinations in the Empordà.
Close to Monells are other medieval villages of the Empordà, including Peratallada, Madremanya, Cruïlles, Pals and Ullastret, as well as some of the best beaches and coves on the Costa Brava, such as Sa Riera, Aiguablava, Tamariu and Calella de Palafrugell. The area is also ideal for hiking, cycling and discovering the gastronomy and wines of the Empordà.
The selection of hotels on the Costa Brava allows visitors to stay either in the heart of the Empordà or by the sea. Many properties are surrounded by nature or located on the beachfront, offering spas, swimming pools, excellent restaurants and Mediterranean views, making them the perfect base for exploring the medieval villages and the most beautiful coves of the Costa Brava.
