Olot
Olot, the capital of the La Garrotxa region in Girona, lies in the heart of the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park, one of the most important volcanic landscapes on the Iberian Peninsula. The city is surrounded by volcanoes such as Montsacopa, Croscat and Santa Margarida.
Its historic center, arcaded squares and lively commercial atmosphere bring life to a city also known for the Festes del Tura, declared a Festival of National Traditional Interest. Very close to Olot are some of the most beautiful medieval villages in Catalonia, including Besalú, Santa Pau and Castellfollit de la Roca.
Olot is an ideal destination for hiking, cycling and outdoor activities thanks to the Greenways and the extensive trail network of La Garrotxa. Gastronomy is another of its major attractions, with the renowned Volcanic Cuisine. The selection of hotels in La Garrotxa, many surrounded by nature, allows visitors to enjoy gastronomic, rural and wellness getaways throughout the year.
